More rescuing and snorkeling

Nov 20, 2005

Location: Green Island, Antigua

Today was a nice day which commenced with an oceanography class about tides. The Danimal made some nice spliced chafe gear for the swim ladder, so it wont mark the paint on the hull. Kevin made a wondrous lunch of chicken wraps, which we followed with a rescue diving session. We all took turns pretending to be unresponsive divers while our buddies rescued us. It sounds like fun, but it was even more fun to actually do it. After a couple of hours in the water we showered and worked on diverse school-work assingments. We anxiously awaited Kevin’s dinner, which proved to be a stupendous (and perhaps spicy) chicken tortilla soup. Delicious. Directly after dinner we made the boat ready for the passage to Barbuda tomorrow, a 35 mile sail. We will exit the waters of Nonsuch Bay through the narrow Spithead Channel tomorrow morning.
