Location: Port Salalah, Oman
So today was our first full day at anchor, and we’re all just as tired a if we were still at sea! After our night out last night at an English sports bar (with bowling lanes!) we all fell fast asleep until we woke up to our first group breakfast since the Maldives. As the day went on, part of the crew remained onboard working in the engine room, relaxing, and catching up on their studies, while others ventured out on the town in full head to toe clothing. At the beach in town camels chased down tourists bathing in the sun as we sat and packed down some much needed ice cream. After dinner the oceanography students took a short quiz followed by the marine bio students watching The March of the Penguins. Overall, it was an amazing day in Oman that exceeded all of our expectations.
