This is our third day in the Red Sea and we are now passed Yemen; we are currently between Saudi Arabia and Eritrea. It’s been a calm day as the swells have almost completely subsided and the wind that allowed us to sail for part of yesterday is now a very light breeze. The morning was quiet with the usual watch schedule and the VHF being much quieter than it was in the Gulf of Aden. The afternoon was busy with an extended marine biology class in which we talked about intertidal communities. During class, the watch team remaining on deck saw our first marine mammals of the Red Sea. Now that the piracy threat is much lower we felt more comfortable slowing down our progress and stopped Argo for a quick swim in the afternoon.
