The Great Barbuda Shore Expedition

Mar 14, 2007

Location: Barbuda
Author: Simon
Today was one of my favorite days of the trip. We brought the dinghy to shore through pounding surf (D-day style) then dragged the dinghy over the burm to a 5 mile long lagoon and motored to the village of Codrington. We then caught a ride up to a series of caves that were once inhabited by the Arawak Indians. We climbed through them and emerged on top of a limestone terrace with a view north into the wide Atlantic. Once back aboard we had lunch and some chose to take a long walk in the rain down a very long beach with not another footstep in sight, while others did their homework back aboard. Tonight we depart for St Barth.
