Diving in Statia

Mar 19, 2008

Location: St. Eustatius
Author: Megan
Today was the last time for me as skipper on Ocean Star. We began our morning with marine biology class and watching blue planet. Then we had a dive on the wreck, Charlie Brown, which was a cable laying boat over 110meters in length. There were large swells today which decreased the visibility and made diving a challenge. We had the afternoon free to allow us to begin our studies for finals which will be in a few days and Kirsty and I went out provisioning as I was the lucky winner; we had a fantastic time. Chris, Mike and Simon went out to take advantage of the rare swell wrapping around the point which created a beautiful hollow wave which they had to themselves. We have an oceanography quiz tonight and then a review for the up coming final. The following week is going to incredibly busy but it will be very rewarding.
