The truth is, contrast is something I like to notice. Like Singapore and Borneo. The bathroom in Borneo was a hole in the ground in the jungle, and Singapore was an extravagant marina resort. The public transportation in Singapore was the easiest most efficient system I’ve ever seen and was clean and comfortable. In Borneo it was a grungy, simple, hollowed out log powered by an old lawnmower motor. Life is about contrast – heaven and hell, night and day, life and death, bad and good, home and away – and you can’t really appreciate one without the other.
