Location: At Sea
Today we woke up early to dive the Third Encounter with Saba Deep. Bob, our divemaster, took us out on the Jolly Mon’ to a sea mount at 110 ft below the swelly surface. We saw lots of coral and fish and even saw a napping nurse shark. Bob claimed to have seen a whale earlier in the day so we were hoping for a surprise visit. After the dive we came back for a delicious lunch. Then John and I braved the huge swells and crashing waves to do retrieve sediment cores with Casey. John saw a massive stingray while I saw two huge barracudas. After the sediment dives we ate dinner and got the boat ready for a sail back to the BVIs, our old stomping grounds. We started sailing at about 7 and will arrive in the BVIs tomorrow morning.
