Location: Elba, Italy
After crawling out of bed at 4:50 am, the new crew of Argo set about prepping the boat for our first day of sailing. A little after 6:00 am, the boat was ready and we motored between the cruise ships and out of Civitavecchia Harbour. After entering the Mediterranean, we eagerly hoisted three of our six sails and faced the swells with a decent tailwind. Cruising at about 7 knots on a broad reach, Argo made the 76 mile trip to Elba in 11 hours. We finished up the day with stir fry, diving videos and our first sea-shower. Much love to my family and Hil; we’ll get internet soon.
