Location: Andritxol, Mallorca
What a way to end diving for the summer Sea-mester 2011. The bay we anchored in near Andritxol offered some of the best diving I have seen to date in the Mediterranean. Not only was the water clear but it was also warm. I would have to say we had 30-40ft visibility with water temps hanging around 80?F. Awesome!!! The first dive of the day was along a cliff edge down to about 60ft. It was a great wall dive with a cavern that everybody stuck their heads in. Unfortunately we did not bring lights so we could not explore the depths. After lunch we went over to the other side of the bay and managed to dive along a boulder field. This was a very fun dive as there were some great underwater structures. We swam through a few tunnels and saw lots of fish. It was a great way to finish off the diving. Today was also a great day just to enjoy to waters and relax. In between dives people had time to go swimming off the boat. It was also a day to catch up on science, so some of the shipmates took advantage of this and started to write up their research projects. All in all a great day.
