The day began with the Ocean Star and its magnificent crew starting at the west end of Tortola. We then hoisted anchor and set sail for St.Kitts (St.Christopher) which is roughly about a one day passage. Nothing too eventful occurred, no casualties or vomiting which was a pleasant thing for everyone aboard. Passage life takes a little getting used to since each watch team has a three hour watch and then a six hour rest period so you don’t get very much shut eye. We were fortunate enough to have calm weather for the passage so everything went relatively smoothly. In my opinion the best part of passage life is being on watch at night and being able to see the stars very clearly. I find that passage life is very simple and though it is enjoyable it is also extremely tiring.
