Antigua At Last!

Jun 27, 2012

Location: English Harbour, Antigua
Author: John Ferguson
After another good night sleep after a trying but awesome passage last night, we woke to the beautiful surroundings of Falmouth Harbour. Following cereal, a thorough deck clean, and raising the anchor, we motored around a corner of Antigua to our destination, English Harbour. Shortly after a smooth docking procedure, we all slowly exited Ocean Star with eyes wide to the beautiful and historically rich sites of our new location. The group was able to spend time throughout English Harbour, experiencing some local cuisine while doing our best to shade ourselves from the powerful Caribbean sun. After spending time amongst the friendly locals and the many t-shirt stands, many of us went on to shower on shore, taking advantage of such a luxury compared to the open sea. We all reconvened aboard Ocean Star for a delicious batch of tortellini and salad for dinner, now looking forward to a night out ashore for some social time and music. Laughter and smiles continue to strengthen the groups chemistry, while we all are picking up on sailing knowledge as we approach the halfway mark of our wonderful excursion together.
