Three Square Meals and Two Deep Dives

Jul 3, 2012

Location: Saba

After a generous night off the crew woke up to a lovely breakfast of cereal and yogurt, but the best part would have to be the muffins. As soon as breakfast was done the advanced group hurried to get their gear ready while the rest of the crew did clean up. The advanced group got to dive all morning reaching a depth of 130 feet while the rest of the crew got to catch some sun. Lunch came quickly and the crew was rewarded with the best lunch ever, grilled cheese and Pringles. We were so excited that lunch was basically over in 15 minutes and it was back to clean up. The afternoon was the open water groups’ chance to dive and it was amazing. We were able to do our deepest dive yet, about 60 feet, and were thrilled to find sea turtles, frogfish, blowfishes, and trumpet fishes. Saba has definitely been the best dive site yet for both groups, not only is the marine life incredible, but the chefs went all out for dinner and as a result everyone got to have a summer thanksgiving meal complete with mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, and chicken. Saba is one of my favorite stops so far.

Shout out to Sam’s dad for the underwater camera- she got some great photos!
