Still in Las Palmas

Nov 7, 2012

Location: Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Canaries
Author: Joseph Meyer
After a few days of passage, everyone was delighted to spend a full night sleeping. We awoke today to the fabulous scent of fresh crepes coming from the galley. The enthusiastic chef team woke up at 4:30 am to ensure all crew members were well nourished for the day. While some went diving today, some went provisioning, others stayed around the boat and marina, eating some scrumptious calamari, venturing out to find WiFi, writing marine biology essays, or simply relaxing and enjoying the day. Although riddled with random rain showers throughout the day, the sun was able to reveal itself and the beauty of Gran Canaria. The evening ended with class and a special SLD where we learned about our elements of communication; simply fascinating. Those who did not go diving today will do so tomorrow, and the roles shall be reversed. Everyone is getting both nervous and excited for our upcoming voyage across the great blue Atlantic!.
