Black Friday

Ah, the day after Thanksgiving, also known as Black Friday, also known as roll around your house because you are still stuffed with turkey day. I love Thanksgiving not only for the day of, but the day after as well. And the tradition was not lost on Argo. Strangely enough it was my second year in a row being awake at 4am on Black Friday. Although instead of battling fellow shoppers at Target, I was battling the waves, rain, and wind of the Atlantic Ocean. The usually up tempo energetic watch team 3 found their good spirits laced with tryptophan, and their usually snacking stomachs stuffed with green bean bake. The watch concluded with one of the more beautiful sunrises I’ve seen in my lifetime, and I was able to take an uninterrupted nap until lunchtime (a rare delicacy during passage life). I awoke to partake in another great tradition of the day after Thanksgiving; leftover sandwiches. We still had enough food to feed a battalion so Eric baked up some rolls and we had turkey, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes, gravy, pie, pound cake, stuffing, and more pie. After that we had on deck showers, Oceanography class, and an MTE Navigation extra help session. Today was all around a pretty mellow decompression from all the hard work that was poured into a day of hectic cooking contained within a 4 square meter area (shared by 15 chefs!). We tanned, we read, we learned, all with the most beautiful backdrop anyone could ask for. P.S. Hope you enjoy a few more of our Thanksgiving Day photos.
