Our Vessels
Be assured: safety is the first and foremost consideration in the design, operation and management of the two traditionally rigged schooners that serve as home and classroom to Sea|mester students, the 112-ft Argo and the 88-ft Ocean Star.
Make no mistake; while Argo and Ocean Star would look right at home among the finest yachts in Newport or Monte Carlo, these are working school ships. If the vessels are moving, it is because the students are trimming the sails, monitoring the ship's systems and charting the course. Shouldering that responsibility, along with the experiential learning opportunity it provides, is the very point of the program.

Staff & Crew Compliment: 7 & 26

Vessel Overview:
Due to be launched in the summer of 2015, S/Y Vela is destined to be Argo's sister ship. Built from the same basic lines and drawings,Vela will receive a range of modifications and upgrades based upon what we have learned throughout Argo's time at sea. That being said, changes will be minimal and this is a testament to Sea|mester's concept and Bill Langan's original design.
