Program Manager, Marine Scientist, MedPIC & Diving Instructor
Amy’s passion for the ocean began when she travelled to the Philippines. Whilst there, she learnt to dive and collected data for her undergraduate research project on Marine Protected Areas. After graduating, she returned as Science Officer on the Philippines project teaching volunteers marine ecology and survey methodology. She then travelled to Indonesia to work on a long-term monitoring project before joining a research station in Bonaire. There, she worked as an academic and research intern on a tropical marine biology undergraduate course and also completed a dive instructor qualification. She left Bonaire to undertake her Master’s degree at Plymouth University but returned the following summer to lead the high school marine ecology program alongside her post-graduate degree. She is excited about the opportunity to share her love of teaching, diving and travel during her time with Sea|mester.
