Marine Science Instructor, PADI OWSI
Ben grew up on the South coast of England where for 8 years he worked as an RNLI Beach Lifeguard. Training and responding on some of the UK’s most demanding beaches afforded Ben the chance to develop his in-water skills in all manner of surf/weather conditions. During this time Ben also studied at Exeter University’s Penryn Campus in Cornwall where he recently graduated with a Master’s Degree in Marine Vertebrate Ecology & Conservation. Ben used the time during his undergraduate and graduate courses to build on previous practical experience gained previously while volunteering on marine research and conservation projects in both South East Asia and Central America.
In 2022, Ben completed his PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor professional credential on the island of Koh Tao in Thailand. More recently Ben completed summer employment with Global Expeditions Group’s high school program, Action Quest, in the British Virgin Islands. While sad to leave the BVI behind him, Ben is beyond excited to join the Sea|mester team full-time.
