Marine Scientist / Dive Instructor
Bobbie was born in Austin, Texas and spent much of her childhood hiking and swimming in the Texas Hill Country. She always loved being in the water but didnt realize her passion for marine science until her last semester as an undergraduate at The University of Texas at Austin. She participated in a marine botany study abroad program in Mexico, where the dynamic community interactions of the coral reef ecosystem inspired her to get her M.Sc. degree at Auburn University. Bobbie lived in Mexico to conduct her masters thesis research on sustainable coral reef tourism management and coral reef fish behavior. She also helped design and teach Auburns Coral Reef Sustainability abroad program. After her masters, Bobbie moved to Roatn, Honduras to complete her PADI Dive Master and Instructor/Master SCUBA Diver Trainer programs. Through teaching study abroad programs, Bobbie hopes to inspire other young scientists to research and protect our worlds marine ecosystems.
