Location: English Harbour, Antigua
Today, we started the day bright and early with some yogurt and granola, and we ate good for the third day of classics!! Today seemed more promising, with signs of good wind and great energy. Our race today started at 10:40, and we were off with a solid 10-12 knots of wind! After a few complications with the fish sail and tacking every 20 minutes, it was super tiring, but we finished the race for the first time ever! After the race, we put the boat to bed and gave the deck a nice scrub. Everyone then showered and got ready for our epic open mic night. We went to the yacht regatta sponsored happy hour and met some really amazing people, a few even sang with us! We ended the night with a giant pizza order and a group sing-along of Wagon Wheel in front of a live band and all of our fellow competitors in the regatta. We are also currently #1 in our class, so send good vibes in hopes that we keep our first-place position! Today is, unfortunately, my last time being skipper and last time ever getting to write the blog, and I just want to say how amazing of a time Ive had being able to do this, sharing my experiences and stories that Ive had on this boat is the best privilege and I hope if anyone is reading this and not sure whether to start this journey or not, DO IT. Youll never experience something as spectacular as this program. Thank you to everyone who reads this blog, Ocean Star staff and crew, and the people in my life who helped me make this journey possible. And remember, SAIL FAST, LIVE SLOW
to my family and friends reading,
I love and miss you guys so much!! Cant wait to see you soon!
