Location: Puerto Ayora, Galapagos
Since it is officially my first day as a skipper 46 days into the trip, I am declaring March 21st International Anton Skipper Day. So, if you know any skippers who are also Anton’s, please wish them a great day! This morning, we arrived in the Galapagos to beautiful scenery, turtles, and 16 customs officials boarding ARGO. Watch Team 3 (the greatest and most attractive watch team) gracefully anchored us into the harbor and officially marked our time in the Galapagos. After last night’s haircut, sacrificing, and dancing-filled day, it was nice to have a relaxing day of boat appreciation. The decks were scrubbed clean of hair, and below deck (especially those bilge lips) were wiped down thoroughly. Throughout the day, the crew went freediving and snorkeling and were lucky enough to be visited by a shark, a turtle, and a sea lion – maybe that Darwin guy was onto something about this place? We had a great dinner meal of tacos prepared beautifully by BIG MIKE and ended the day with a game of hide and seek after squeeze. Congrats to Klay for winning! Overall, it was a really relaxing day, and we can’t wait for our shore time tomorrow. Thank you for reading, and have a great International Anton Skipper Day!
