The day has finally come. It’s time to pick up anchor and head back to where our voyage began 39 days ago. So much has changed throughout our journey. Thirteen individuals from all over the country and the world have come together as a family, and that is something truly special you cannot find in many other places. We traveled the Caribbean, working together to sail Ocean Star from island to island, making memories that will last a lifetime along the way. Once we came cruising into the harbor with all eyes fixated on us, we threw our dock lines and made them fast, and our day of boat appreciation began. It was time for us to thank Ocean Star for getting us to all of our destinations safe and sound, so it only fits that we give her a thorough scrub down on the deck and down below. All tasks were organized, and everyone split up into teams, so the jobs got done efficiently. Everyone contributed some blood, sweat, and tears to this beautiful vessel this summer. We worked all day with a break for lunch, and then around 3:00, everyone wiped their hands and was satisfied with their hard work. Some showers and shopping time then took place before our final dinner together at Pusser’s Landing. Emotions were all over the place, but one thing was common among the whole crew: the bonds created were powerful, and the memories created held weight that would stick with everyone forever. Keep the sun on your face, the wind in your hair, and the salt life in your heart.
