Location: Falmouth Harbour, Antigua
On this morning, we woke up at 7:00 am (the norm for the rest of the trip) and got busy making breakfast and preparing the boat for its first voyage in months. After a breakfast of bagels and fruit, we raised anchor, cast off our lines, and motored out of our harbor to cleaner, clearer water. Just as we got settled in a series of squalls attempted to blow us off our vessel, and pushed us uncomfortably close to a few other boaters; this was obviously on purpose as we got to practice raising the anchor once again, and we motored a few minutes further along and tucked into an adjacent haven. After chowing down on burgers and digesting, we all completed our swim tests (8 laps around Ocean Star and 15 minutes of treading water). Now we sit happily anchored in a beautiful bay with the promise of SCUBA and sails in the days to come!
