Location: Admirality Bay, Bequia
Hello again! Skipper day #2 in a row for me. I apologize for the lack of photos yesterday. I completely forgot and didn’t even take my phone out of my bunk. I’ll do better today…
Today started off with breakfast and class right off the bat. Marine bio – an estuary lecture today. Right after, we zoomed into some much-awaited shore time on the island of Bequia, three dinghy rides in, and everyone had their feet planted on a dock right by a very fun-looking hotel/restaurant-type place and a walkway curving around the rocks. Right away, the four boys disappeared, leaving a patently waiting Selin on the dock. After the rest of us washed up on shore, the seven girls and Meg started our walk around the cliffs on a wooden walkway, up and over some cliffs on a crazy cool stairway, and then descended down onto the streets of Bequia. Again, we lost the boys, so their day is more of a mystery, but the rest of us started off our shore time with a trip to the pharmacy, where some with infections picked up their antibiotics and other various prescriptions. Then we headed to a grocery store to stock up on snacks, which we had been running very low on after a group snack fiasco on the last grocery store run. This stop also resulted in the purchase of an entire carton of ice cream and seven spoons, which we used to devour the carton as we walked down the street. Wandering around a bit, we went into a shop or two and listened to the church groups singing. Being a Sunday it was pretty quiet and most things were closed but overall we came to the consensus that Bequia was very cute. Our last stop on the way to the beach/boat was a cafe that had the MOST delicious baked goods and smoothies. There was some carrot cake, lemon tarts, cookies, and a caramel fudge brownie consumed. Then we proceeded back to the beach by the boat dock and swam and swam and ate some of our packed lunches and awaited the dingy. After getting back, we had seamanship class, showers, dinner, and now some studying and bed!
And, of course, the much-anticipated photos…
