This morning seemed to start off as a productive morning for everyone, no matter what time they were up for their night watch. Everyone was greeted with Anna’s lovely aquatic drawings posted on the bathroom walls as exam study guides. I’d say it’s the new bathroom magazine. At this time, only one head was out of order, flooding seawater into the overflowing toilet. Make a note of that issue. Last night, everyone’s minds were spinning with lists of things they needed to do before the end of the voyage. Lainey was repeatedly reciting her list during our watch, and Beck looked like he was about to turn into the Hulk with his veins and eyes bulging and his incredibly loud and obnoxious “ARGHGGGSHG” s while working at late hours on his water sample assignment. I think we’ve gotten to the point where everyone is now in grind mode for classes. After a packed, productive morning and many snacks later, we made it to lunch and began to prepare for our offerings and performances to please King Neptune when passing the equator. Everyone marinated in sweat downstairs while the festivities were being prepared. We were greeted by Neptune’s court (and his monster) and began our performances. Beck and Will drank dirty dish pit water with grease and mushrooms visible at the bottom, Lexy led us in Christmas Carols where Kelsey forgot the words to silent night and refered to Jesus as “Tender and wild” instead of mild (only I thought it was funny, you had to be there). Kylie, Anabelle, and I performed the H2O theme song, and Spencer read his diss track towards vegans. He then was forced to vacuum chickpeas with his mouth as punishment. Mid-afternoon, all four heads were out of order (only I seemed to view this as a complete catastrophe, but Anna was working on them. It wasn’t until Beck served us baked beans and asparagus that everyone acknowledged this crisis as a level 4 (on the State Department scale). But the toilets are back in function at this point in time!! We ended the evening by passing the equator, which had the most amazing sunset and Indonesia in the distance. Mom and Dad- you probably don’t even know that these exist, but if you’re reading this, I’ll try to call you before the trip ends 😉 xoxo Reagan
