Hello, lovely blog fans!
It’s my first time having the privilege to write on this lovely blog, and I couldn’t be more excited to tell you all about the exciting day the Ocean star crew had. We started off the day with our usual 7 am wakes ups. No music this time, just me standing near everyone’s bed calmly saying “Good morning” on repeat. Not sure if that was the most effective way to approach wake-ups considering Kyle and Matt apparently never even heard me. It was a learning experience for me as skipper of the day.
Most importantly, everyone was awake and ready for our breakfast. I’m still not quite sure what it was. It was some sort of egg pie thingy, NOT a quiche. But definitely delicious and gave us the fuel we needed to complete our leadership obstacle course. Today honestly felt like we were in the amazing race. We split into our three watch teams to compete. We were running all around the island, collecting clues and completing challenges. The course included snorkel navigation, the human knot, the floor is lava, solving riddles, and locating clues. At the end of the course, we were exhausted. We sat down for lunch and got the news that we would be having shore time instead of having class. After shore time, we came back to Ocean Star and got back our fish logs. The ninth photo shows Gus happily posing with his graded fish log. We finished off the night with some curry and oceanography. We are still waiting for Steve to announce our results on which team won the challenge course. Hopefully, the upcoming skipper can update you guys on that. Overall it was a fantastic day, and I can’t wait to get sails up tomorrow on our way to Bequia!
