Location: Cairns, Australia

It has been a long time coming, but after 4736 nautical miles, we have finally made it to Cairns, Australia!!! We have been underway since the night before and continued on our watch teams for the last time. 8 am was the start of our final exam, the Navigation test for our MTE class. We had spent a great deal of time the last few nights studying for it, and we are still awaiting the results of our efforts. From those I have spoken with, there is a great deal of optimism about how it went. The test and our underway watches took up most of the day, and some of us used the opportunity to catch up on sleep during our downtime. Just before dinner, we made it to our docking location, Marlin Marina. For dinner, we had chicken fingers with mashed potatoes and veggies. The squeeze question for tonight was a hypothetical of if each person were a captain of their own vessel, who are five other (real) people would they hire as their crew? Now that we are seasoned seafarers, we made sure to choose other experienced mariners for our crew, such as Johnny Depp or Scarlet Johansson. We reviewed our Emergency First Responder tests and are enjoying access to a full restroom with showers. We have come to feel quite at home on Argo, and the sight of our final location on our itinerary sends mixed feelings. We are excited to get to shore and experience what Australia has to offer and are excited to return to our lives back home in a few days, yet we are reluctant to leave.
