The day started with being awoken by a blazing fire alarm. The chefs accidentally set off the fire alarm while making bacon, an effective way to get everyone up, out of bed, and onto the dock at 6:25. Soon after, most people were back in bed for another blissful 30 minutes of sleep until I woke them up at the normal wake up time of 7 am. Breakfast consisted of eggs, bacon, refried beans, and sweet potatoes. It was necessary fuel for the long day of hiking ahead of us. After clean-up, we began our journey to the hike. We took a tram to the center of town and then a bus to the start of the hike, which was in a place called Mirador Cruz del Carmen. The beginning of the hike was downhill and cool as there was heavy tree cover. After about two hours, we stopped for lunch on the side of the road and realized that we had been on the wrong trail all along. We decided to continue down the road, which opened up to an amazing view. There were mountains all around, and you could see the ocean in the distance. A little way down the road, we stopped at a bus stop to regroup and decided to check out El Batan, a small town a couple of kilometers away. The first thing we did in El Batan was get cold drinks from a small store. They revived us. Everyone was prepared to sit and chill until the bus came, but Amanda had something else in mind. She told us to get in groups of 4 or 5 and then told us that our first activity would be to reenact a scene from Harry Potter. My group decided to do the scene in the 4th movie where Harry and Cedric win the Triwizard Tournament, take the port key at the same time, and are transported to a graveyard.
I got to be Peter Pettigrew and kill Cedric, aka Fifi, with Avada Kedavra. I carried Voldemort, aka Sienna, into the cauldron to be reborn, but I needed Harrys (Gretas) blood and my hand first. The scene was great and very fun to perform. The next activity was to choreograph a 30-second dance routine. Caroline, Hilary, and Daisy won with their performance of Party in the USA. It was amazing and super funny. The last challenge we did before catching the bus home was freeze dance. The bus tried to leave us behind, but we got on it in the end and finally headed home to Argo after a long day.
