Hiiiiiiiii to all the parents out there. Your child is safe and loving it here 🙂
So, we woke up today with an amazing sunrise. The island we are anchored by is insanely beautiful! After eating turmeric coconut bread for breakfast, we cleaned up and had a science equipment lab. Anna and Steph pulled out tons of items for us to complete certain objectives. We had to find the salinity of the ocean’s surface as well as the temp, depth beneath Argo, and amount of visibility beneath Argo, and to find a species to examine under a microscope.
For lunch, we ate a delicious buffalo chicken and/or tofu salad. The open water students did a quick snorkel test while navigating with their compass to work towards the completion of their OW certification. Soon after, we all hopped in a dinghy with our dive kits and headed to our dive spot. The reef where we were diving had so much visibility you could see everything on the sea floor from 25 feet above the surface! After two dives led by the DMTs (Dive Masters in Training), we headed back to Argo.
We made it back to the boat right before sunset; a few people saw the green flash! For dinner, we ate a Thai dish since Argo was built in Thailand. Every night, we do the squeeze, and you go around in a circle and answer the skipper’s question of the day. Today’s question was, “What is the trippiest thing that has ever happened to you?” We have some crazy stories, and it turns out a few of us have met before this trip without knowing :0 Open Water students will be taking their written test in order to get certified tonight. YAY… then we will go to sleep or have anchor watch…. ya never know!
