Location: Sardegna, Italy

Today was a well needed day of rest after a crazy couple of days. The day started with everyone gearing up to go diving after a fantastic breakfast. We dove by this cool rock formation and got to see a lot of the fish we’ve been learning about in Marine Bio. After the dives, everyone got free time for the rest of the day. It was spent taking naps, making up for the lack of sleep on our passage, catching up on homework, and a group of people chose to go ashore and see this beautiful island. Some of the group decided to climb on the rocks we all dove under this morning, while the rest of the group hiked into a small beach area. The beach was just a short strip of hole-in-the-wall cafes and wind/kite surfing schools. In my opinion, it was the most non-touristy place we have been to. It was all locals enjoying the amazing weather. When everyone got back to the boat, we were greeted with ribs for dinner, and they were amazing!! We’re finishing off the day with a prep class for our onshore oceanography/marine biology lab tomorrow morning. It’s crazy to think that we will be having a class on a beautiful island in Italy. All in all, it was a very relaxing day that everyone needed and enjoyed!
