Location: Cook's Bay, Moorea, French Polynesia
After arriving in Moorea in the dark last night, we were finally able to see the beautiful landscape of the island early this morning. We started the day with an introduction to our Marine Biology course and were then shuttled across the bay to UC Berkley’s Moorea research lab. After a brief private tour of the facilities, we headed up to the Belvidere Lookout, meeting an incredible view of the mountains of Moorea. We then had a long enjoyable hike to the top of the mountain, coming across nature most of us had never seen before. The view from the top can only be truly appreciated from being there in the moment, but it was breathtaking. We then headed back to Argo to have a quiet night before our first overnight sail tomorrow.
