Location: Barbuda
Today was GREAT! We started off a little earlier than usual and finally got off the Antiguan dock now that the storm had fully passed us. There were a few hurdles to overcome, as we had two anchors along with the usual dock lines and fenders to attend to. However, everyone worked well together as a team, and we were soon on our way. The start of the passage was a little rough, so there were a few green faces, but soon we rounded Antigua, and, on a swift beam reach, Ocean Star became a lot more stable. All of the sail raises, watch teams and sail drops were fully student-led, and everything went flawlessly. In fact, I’d go as far as to say that the sails are flaked the best they have been all trip. Tonight, we are going to do some group bonding with a good open chat followed by the inspirational film White Squall- I can’t wait!
