6 a.m. I was rudely awakened by my worst enemy, the alarm clock. I crawled out of bed and wondered how I was going to wake everyone up without being too mean. I failed. After everyone got up, it was a rush to get ready to leave for Rome. Thanks to Anna and her amazing banana bread, we stepped off Argo to walk towards the 7:20 train. Getting off the train, we headed to Vatican City for a look inside. The architecture inside was amazing. I also saw a priest. I may have been a little disappointed when it wasn’t the Pope, as I had been waiting in line to see who it was after we left to head in our own directions. I joined Chelsea and Taylor on a long walk around the city, stopping for pizza and gelato. (my favorite gelato place). We met up with the rest of the group to enter the Pantheon. To be honest, I didn’t really know what to look at. Afterward, the group walked to Trevi Fountain for a group picture. I really want to see how that photo turned out because it was so packed with visitors. I guess because I was skipper of the day, I was also nominated to lead people for the Trevi fountain to the Colosseum. I think we were all exhausted from walking all day, and we sat on the side, waiting to go back to the train. I did such a wonderful job guiding everyone the first time I was again tasked with the job of walking everyone back to the train station. (Thanks, Calli). The ride back to Argo was pretty quiet as most people were mentally checked out from all the walking. Many people were catching sleep on the way back. When we got back, we were greeted with a nice warm dinner. As Im writing this, everyone is working so hard to get Argo ready to set sail at 6:15 a.m.
