Today, we got an early start heading out from Elba; Watch Team 1 started off the day at 5 am. It was about 85 NM to get to Portovenere. We had an Oceanography class during the voyage, and we discussed the properties of water. We also had a Basic Seamanship class and talked about sails and boat hulls. We got into port around 5 pm. We saw a pretty cool Italian Naval vessel when we were going into port. We actually got to use real showers today, which was great after the saltwater showers we have been taking.
