To determine value, prospective students and parents often ask us to describe a Sea|mester voyage’s measurable outcomes. This is not a straightforward question to answer.
Why? Because while we share many of the same moments, how we interpret them and what we discover is personal. Ultimately everyone’s voyage is their own, and students tell us that they didn’t fully appreciate the true breadth and depth of the experience until months or even years later; realized during those “ah-ha” moments when a competency they now possess becomes profoundly relevant.
Nevertheless, we challenged ourselves to develop a list of competencies and values that we invite our students to develop and explore throughout their program. If you are an alumnus and feel we’ve missed something pertinent to you, please let us know, and we’ll add it to the list.
