Location: Underway to Saba!

We started our day off by getting prepared for our first passage! After some cereal for breakfast, we waited around for the provisions and got checked out of the BVIs. Once that was all complete, we began to haul up the anchor. The anchor got stuck on an uncharted pole in the ground, so it was a little rough leaving, but eventually, it was sorted out, and we got our way. While we were motoring, we walked around the boat and went over the watch teams and our jobs in case of emergency. After that, we hoisted the sails and began sailing for the first time! The motor was on as well, so it was more like a motor sail, but it was still really fun.

I think almost half our boat experienced seasickness at some point, but for some, it was pretty bad. I got seasick later in the evening and some others didnt feel too good, but Tevon was definitely feeling the worst. He threw up 13 times. (But somehow, his morale was still high, cracking jokes the whole time!) So we all just hung around on deck (because being down below was really rocky) and fell asleep, trying our best to hide from the sun. My watches were from 9-12 pm and this morning from 6-9. Every hour on the hour we completed a ship check, which is where we go around the boat to make sure everything is running smoothly. Other than that, we just kept watch on the water, listened to some music, and occasionally looked at the full moon. By this time, there was no land in sight, so we were fully in the middle of the ocean. After that I fell asleep super quickly and probably had the best sleep so far. This morning, I felt better on watch and got to steer the boat, which was pretty fun. Around 8-9, we finally got to Saba! That was our first passage, which was a little rough, but we all are excited to be in Saba! Miss you, Mom, Dad, Saachi and Nona, and Grandpa! Love you, and talk to you all soon
