Location: Civitavecchia

We made it to Civitavecchia! After our lovely final passage from Sardinia overnight, we pulled up to where Argo is going to be staying for the next couple of days before everyone leaves after arriving and welcoming our pilot on board as provided by the port. Ian, Brig, B, and Faith started setting up the fenders, getting us ready to pull on in. After the fenders were ready, we broke up into four teams for the dock lines. Sienna, Meghan, and I were all team one before the surprise new member, Carli. Everyone else split up to go to each dock line and get ready to launch them. Meg, Ella, and Derrick all went to the dock where we were parking up to catch the lines, and Ryan was on the roaming fender to make sure we didn’t crash into anything.

Altogether, everyone had a job, and we were ready. After a nice, smooth docking, we were ready to get some food made by Mr Nico himself, with the assistance of Nicole and Rina. It was a lovely Gnocchi dish with a tomato sauce. Next up was what everyone was waiting for, shore time. Emory and I went on a side quest while all the others went shopping or for ice cream, but we were looking to fix her phone. Wrong time of day to be going as everything was shut due to siesta. We decided it would be best if we met up with the others and got some ice cream. We pull up to a gelateria taken over by everyone. I see some exquisite flavours going around, Charlie getting a nice Nutella one, Gabe made sure to let me know how good the blueberry and peach one was, same with Axel and his milk and cafe. We then strolled around the shops, and Harrison and Seb were pretty set on getting some pizza, but unfortunately, there was not enough time. I made my way back to the boat and soon after everyone was back after stopping at McDonald’s with Ryan savouring some for later and some milkshakes going around. Now that everyone was back, it was time to start some boat cleaning jobs, as this boat has been all around the Mediterranean, so we need to give back. We split up the jobs that needed to be done, which were emptying the anchor locker, cleaning lines and PFDs, and getting the jibs off. Shane took his trusty team of Lily, Harrison, and Gabe to tackle the big old jibs whilst I led the cleaning of the PFDs. Emory and Charlize were scrubbing these puppies hard, and they were dirty.

Meanwhile, Scotty and I were rinsing them off before giving them to our middleman, B, who walked them over to Sam and Seb, who hung them up. I must say Scotty managed to get soaking wet due to some accidental rogue hose spraying, but she lived. Finally wrapping all this up, Carlo, Sawyer, and Carlie were flooding the dinghy to clean all the lines contained inside. Wrapping up all the jobs, we decided to set up the mid-ship tarp, some say it is a myth as it’s rarely seen on Argo. Only when the boats are in one place for an extended period of time does it come out, but Argo was nicely shaded today, thanks to Brig for the moral support, Ryan for lifting the tarp, and Piper for tying up the lines. Ending the day, we had some bangers and mash and then a nice chat about all our cars and dream cars to wrap up one of our final nights on board. I hope you’re all excited to see the new and improved version of your kids!

Mum, Dad, Lexi, and Maya are looking forward to seeing you guys in a month!
