Location: Rome Airport

The first of our group to leave was Sam, who had to head to the train station to get back to his home in Mallorca. Following shortly behind, all of the rest of us boarded the bus for the airport, although we tearfully said our goodbyes to Sienna, who was staying to get picked up by her parents later in the day from the dock. The hour bus ride was quiet; most of us had fallen asleep. We arrived at the airport at 5:30 and were greeted by some travel delays and mix-ups. We said goodbye to Rina and Axel, who headed to the domestic terminal- we had to practically tear Rina and Piper apart. We then settled into our corner near the check-in areas of the airport, where we waited to be able to check our bags for our flights that were still hours and hours away. We got some snacks, Avery made a bed out of the luggage carts, and we settled in for the morning and early afternoon. We logged some miles in the airport, walking around the duty-free area and all the stores in the terminal, and having some snacks before we made our way to our gates and said goodbyes. This trip has been so rewarding and made our goodbyes extremely difficult, but all the memories make it all worth it.
