Location: Kuta, Indonesia
This morning, I was tasked with waking everyone up 30 minutes earlier than normal due to the fact that we would be surfing in Kuta in just a few hours. So, as requested, I woke everyone up with the sweet, sweet sound of Gunna. This was received well, Fin even claiming it had him pumped!!! After eating a delectable breakfast of fresh fruit and yogurt carefully crafted by Rai-Ching, we were on our way. After arriving in Kuta and evacuating the perfectly air-conditioned bus, we were ready to surf. We suited up, grabbed our boards, and were off to the swells. I even dared to say the waves were 8 feet tall, but was quickly humbled by some more logical mates.
Once we were done having our fun, it was off to Uluwatu for lunch, but sadly, the traffic was too dense. No fear, though, there were plenty of other places to eat and bargain with locals for dumb stickers and license plates. (ask Henry about that one) Anyway, Maya, Keith, Zeke, Fin, Destiny, Vera, Alice, and Wiley had a lovely meal at the Brunch Club cafe and were even blessed with trying a new kind of food called porncakes. (Weird) They were mid, but very jiggly, which is always fun. At this point, it was time to return to the bus, but instead of taking a grab cab, we decided to face the elements and had a nice walk. Arriving with time to spare, we spotted Mac holding bags and an expression on his face that could only mean one thing Sam had a good shopping spree. Once the whole crew was back, we entered the perfectly air-conditioned bus one last time and headed for home. Greeted by Perry at the dock we were informed that our laundry had been returned, a wave of glee was spread throughout the group. This brings me to the present, where I am lying on the boom writing the blog whilst being serenaded with some beautiful guitar playing from Wiley. Thank you!
