Location: Les Saintes, Guadeloupe
Today taught us what life underway entailed: watches throughout the night, boat checks on the hour, and our fair share of seasickness. During our night watches, we listened to music and podcasts and played games while watching the bioluminescence in the waves. Every hour, we had walkthroughs of the boat to make sure everything was prim and proper. When the sun came up, we were greeted by the beautiful islands of Les Saintes. Were currently anchored in an area with a lovely view of the coastline houses. During the day, we tended to Ocean Star, who got a much-deserved cleaning after her tiring voyage. In the evening, we had an invigorating class about ocean sediments. It was all tied up neatly with a delicious meal from the students.
