A Quiet Day
Location: St. Barths
Today was our first full day at St Barth and was quite peaceful due to the weather, meaning we couldn't do any of our planned dives. This resulted in us learning more about emergency first aid, where we named CPR dummies (with some names being outlandish) who we then attempted to (and for the exercise) succeeded in saving. We also learned how to use a defibrillator and apply oxygen masks in case of an emergency. Safe to say if anyone gets hurt on OceanStar we are all well prepared or over prepared since most injuries tend to be something small like a paper cut.
Since today was mainly studying, we also did our VHF test with the boat being full of the sounds of everyone practicing the phonetic alphabet, which I won't bore you with.
Today was one of those rare days on the trip where it was relatively quiet and peaceful, with everyone preparing for either the VHF test or the Oceanography midterm happening tomorrow. Wish us luck!
