Land Ahoy

Location: Bermuda

Land Ahoy

The first time Emma said land ahoy, no one could see it, and I thought she was trippin. She was not in fact trippin, and you could just see Bermuda on the horizon!!! It happened on our watch around midday. Clara, Ellery, Evan, Blake, Christina, and I were the first to see it. Before we saw land, it was pretty chill. Clara, Sloane, Iris, and Lilly did their laundry this morning, so now they’ve got some fresh clothes. I hung out with Lilly, Chase, and Maci on the bowsprit (which is the net on the bow) while we were underway, and we had a fun time. It even rained a little bit, so everyone got the opportunity to bring out their foul-weather gear. Maci has a pink Helly Henson jacket and pants, which were definitely a boat favorite. As we got closer to Bermuda, we began our boat appreciation, which is where we deep-cleaned the boat. Clara, Sloane, and Iris would like to mention that they really got into the cleaning and are very proud of it.

Jackson, Maci, and I helped a lot underneath, too. Everyone else was on deck doing outside cleaning. Margot, Ellery, and Chloe looked at pictures on their camera with Nate, Blake, and Finn. After checking into Bermuda customs, we all got to the ocean shower for the first time in a week, which was a lot of fun. Kellan and Blake did a synchronized backflip off the boat, which was cool. Alex would like to add that she got locked in the bathroom this morning. She obviously made it out because she’s doing dishes right now. I guess you guys will never find out how she got out. Everyone has very nice winding-down routines. A lot of people journal together, Evan, Bode, and Christina, like reading in the salon before bed. Tonight we have anchor watches again, which will be different in comparison to the four-hour night watches that we have been committed to during passage. Anchor watches are only one hour. We are all excited to go and explore Bermuda tomorrow! I, and everyone included, are really looking forward to cold water and walking around. I would also like to add that Lilly is being amazing at her job right now, so great job, Lilly.
