Location: Underway to NYC
Hi everyone, it’s Kellan! Today is day 15 on Vela, and we are having so much fun! Last night we got to throw on our foul weather gear for watch as we went through a bit of a rainstorm in the Gulf Stream. Ellery and I both had some ramen and our rock candy from the crystal cave tour, so yummy. After getting some good rest, Clara, Sloane, and Iris cooked us up some yummy pasta for lunch. After the cleanup, we got to work raising all 6 sails for the day, and Vela looks beautiful! We had amazing weather today, and I was even able to wear pants and a hoodie! Chloe beat Nate, Finn, and Bode in chess. Go Chloe! We were able to turn off the engines for the evening and just sail (which has been a very rare occurrence this trip). Today was a great day because we were all able to relax and recharge for New York, where we will be arriving on the 1st! Kristina is currently making us all cookies, and everyone else is hard at work cleaning up the boat. We will miss being on passage, but we are definitely looking forward to being in the Big Apple! That’s all I have for today, peace out!
