Welcome Aboard Argo!
Location: West End BVI
Goooooood morning from Soper’s Hole! The Argo staff kicked off the day bright and early with 6:30 AM dockside haircuts to look extra sharp for our new shipmates! After freshening up, it was Argo’s turn to shine. A deck wash and some last-minute tidying down below brought her to a sparkle. You wouldn’t know it at first glance, but her bilges are strategically stuffed to the brim with food and supplies, ready to feed and fuel our small army of 32 as we set sail across the Atlantic!
Energy is high on the dock as carts zip back and forth, and students begin to arrive. It feels extra special to launch this program alongside the rest of the ActionQuest fleet (with a few celebrity appearances from our office staff sprinkled in too!)
Wasting no time, Emma and Lizzie jumped into prepping smoothie bowls for tomorrow’s breakfast. Then came the ferry, a storm of students, and about 100 duffel bags. The dock turned into the world’s most exciting fire line as we chaotically tossed bags to each other.
The first night's dinner was a classic: pesto pasta with green beans. We even made a cake because we have a birthday!! Happy birthday, Peyton! Our one and only birthday is this program, and it’s on day one.
After two months without students, it is lovely to have Argo come alive with energy and laughter again. Everyone is settling in nicely tonight, some shipmates are reuniting after years apart, while others are meeting their new best friends for the very first time. Hopefully, they can get some rest tonight, as we have a few jam-packed days of fun planned in the BVI before we set sail for the Azores.
