Rescue Training and Crimes
Location: Sardinia
The day started beautifully with an amazing (late, but that's a detail) breakfast of bagels and noodle kugel (trust me, just look it up). Thanks, Nate. After cleaning up, we did some passage unprep, you know, removing halyards, putting sail covers on, undoing jib sheets... you know, boat stuff. We also took the dive gear out of the laz to do some rescue diving exercises!!!! We haven't dived since the Azores, so I was VERY hype for that. After the briefing, we did surface training, where we learned to deal with responsive but tired or panicked divers on the surface.
Meanwhile, Joey and Johnathan studied for their PSATs (sorry guys, you've got this; just a few more days of studying!) After lunch (and a quick water jump with Emma while waiting for the dishy pit), we did underwater rescue training involving out-of-air and panicked divers underwater drills. We got a little rushed out of water by a storm alert, which also meant no boom swinging (and that's very sad :(( ). We, for most of us, watched Moana instead, which compensated a little :) While Joey and Zoë took a nap. We had chicken parm in the salon for dinner since it was raining and FINALLY found Joey's computer; Nora STOLE it! For her crime, she was sentenced to walking the plank. Johnathan was then sentenced to the same fate for stealing Joey's swim shorts! We then all joined her for a swim in the rain :) PSAT students still have a class, but for most of us, it's gonna be a chill evening before anchor watches :)
Goodnight from Sardinia,
Lucie
