Land Ho!!!!

Location: Bonaire

Hi Blog. My day today started at 8 pm yesterday. Watch team 2 was in charge of taking in the sails, and Gavi and I got to sit on the bowsprit to flake the jib. It was gusting about 25 knots, and we were going so fast, it was amazing. While we were out on the bowsprit, we looked below us and saw bioluminescence sparkling under the bow, and it was so magical. After the excitement of putting away the sails, we sat with anticipation, looking at the lights of Bonaire. When I woke up again in the morning, we prepared the deck lines for our wonderful dock spot. We have showers, a private beach, and a patio. After getting tied up, we stretched our legs on the trek to the customs office to get checked in. Then, after catching up with our friends and family after a week, we headed over to the dive shop to get buoyancy checks to be able to dive here. On our way back, the day got reeeeeaaaaallllyyyy exciting…… I found new watch straps!!!!!!!!!! You may remember in an earlier blog when Rachel rescued my watch from the bottom of the ocean, and now, with a new strap, that is the last time my watch ends up at the bottom of the ocean. After that, we headed over to Within 2 Buns, where Charles and Martin almost got us kicked out for “jumping the fence” when, in fact, Martin had just passed his shoes over the fence to Charles, who had previously been walking around shoeless. The Bun place ended up being delicious. Sydney and I both got amazing smoothies and a chicken sandwich. After some fire food, Sydney, Katie, Helena, and I went snorkeling and saw some crazy stuff. We saw a peacock flounder, giant parrotfish, a spotted moray eel, and lots of other cool stuff near our boat.

I was a bit freaked out because the guy at the marina office threw some meat in the water and a toooon of scary fish went to eat it and he said they were piranhas… Im choosing to believe he was messing with me. Before dinner, I took a luxurious shower at the marina for like 30 mins. For all those wondering, Aiden says hi. “Man, I love SCUBA” - Aiden. I’ll also give Nacho a shoutout here. I was supposed to help him write his blog earlier this week, and I accidentally fell asleep. Today, Nacho did some taping so we can varnish the cap rails. I am very excited to finally watch the last two episodes of Lincoln Lawyer tonight. Buenas Noches
Bye Blog,
xoxo- Sarah
