DAY ONE DELERIUM BAYBEE
Location: Port Denarau
Hey guys, how are we doin? This is Nora, privileged and honored to be the first skipper aboard our voyage from Fiji to Bali aboard the majestic Vela. It was our first day aboard Vela, and boy, oh boy, what a whirlwind of a day it had been! We all arrived (minus our beloved Heloise, who is tragically stuck in LAX with a dream and her cardigan) around noon, unpacking our comically large bags and learning the ropes. We were not allowed to board for a bit due to the ship being prepped for our arrival, but after some moseying and shopping around the Denarau marina, we finally boarded our dream team vessel. BUT WAIT!!! WE WERE STRUCK BY A TRAGEDY OF EPIC PROPORTIONS AS WE BOARDED!! Our dearest Sydney was wounded in battle (she dropped her phone in the water and had to ask a nice Fijian diver to rescue it). It surprisingly still works perfectly— sponsored by Lifeproof ©for real. We have all become the best of pals below deck during the tropical showers of the day. It has been a classic tropical day in the twists and turns of the weather we have experienced. We ate a delicious dinner of pasta and chicken, with oyster mushrooms for those of us who enjoy a plant-based diet. After dinner, I was overjoyed to learn that I would be able to share the events of the day with you all in my position as skipper! We are all zonked beyond belief and are looking forward to tomorrow as our first full day as a crew!!!!! I cannot wait to get up early to get everybody else up early in the least obnoxious way possible!! It will be so epic!! I so appreciate the loyal and kind help of my pals Perry and Emma in composing this blog, as I feel like my writing skills are hanging on by a thread :D XOXO gossip girl (Nora)
