Bali We Are Here
Location: Bali
This morning, we arrived in our final destination for our Sea|Mester voyage: Bali, the gem of Indonesia. After an early morning of sailing through heavily trafficked seas, we then cleaned all of our PFDs, type ones, and BCDs and hung them all up to dry as quickly as possible with the promise of getting to go on shore and explore Bali.
Once we finished all of our tasks, we all got in the dinghy to go explore and split up into groups. Sebastian and I decided that first we wanted to go to Starbucks (ironic, right?) to use their internet for downloading things to avoid using a lot of data. While there I probably ate about four croissants (you can tell I missed them very much) which were splendid by the way, especially when they heat them up for you. It feels like coming home in the middle of winter to a warm fireplace and hot chocolate.
After we downloaded all of the things we wanted, we decided to go shopping. We went to the Icon Mall where Sebastian got a present from the LEGO store for his girlfriend (it's a really cute gift) and I got some chocolates for my grandmother, who's visiting my house right now. I also got something for myself that I've been wanting for a long time now, which is a charm bracelet. I've always loved the idea of having a piece of jewelry that you can personalize and change at any time to fit your mood or outfit. However, today I just got the bracelet and not charms, just as a starting point.
When we were done shopping, we saw that because the mall was on the beach, there were a ton of nice restaurants right on the beach next to us. Choosing one, we sat down and had dinner while we talked about what we thought it would be like returning home after going on this wonderful adventure, which was a wonderful way to end the night.
Before I go, I want to thank my family for supporting me through this because studying abroad has always been a big dream of mine, and I honestly still can't believe that I'm here right now, so thank you.
