BIG BA
Location: Bali
Last full day on Vela. Today was a long day. We had a full day of BA. We focused on doing the last bits of deep clean, like scrubbing the deck, wiping the salon, cleaning up all the bunks, and everyone started packing. It was bittersweet seeing everyone pile their bags in the salon as Vela got back to looking her best. Right after lunch, some of us had to take a quick trip to the immigration office to extend our visas, while everyone else stayed and finished up BA. Once we got back from immigration, we had some downtime to finish writing our cards and mentally prepare to leave tomorrow. Just before dinner, we had a talk about reclamation to life off of Vela. It was such a bittersweet moment as we all sat around the cockpit for the last time. The final squeeze was a heartfelt one where we all shared our favorite part of the journey. Mostly, the answers of what stood out most about this trip were the people. The bonds we have formed over the past 80 and/or 40 days are lifelong and I can’t imagine saying goodbye to all of these amazing people. Squeeze is such a special tradition that I hope to carry into my everyday life outside of Seamester. Every time I think of an appreciation for the day, I will think of this trip and all of the amazing friends I have made. After the squeeze, we all made it to shore for our final dinner. We went to a cute outdoor beach restaurant with great food. Sharing a final meal was so special, and it was full of laughter and so much love. I can’t believe tomorrow we are done, and I have to say goodbye to such an amazing group that has turned into my family. I have learned so much on this trip and grown so much as a person. Seamester, I am forever grateful for this amazing journey and can’t wait to share my experience with everyone. Okay, everyone, for the final time, you have been blogged
