Charlie Appreciation Day
Location: Pacific Ocean
It was a fun day as always. The sun is shining, the wind is blowing, and the sails are full. I woke up for my 8 am-12 watch knowing that I'm skipper. We did some chores on watch, such as cleaning and "sunscreening" the dinghies. Shane taught me and Sadie how to splice a Dynema line so we could replace an old one on the handy billy. Some of us did laundry. I was in charge of wake-ups, and I'm told that I'm great at waking people, apparently. We had breakfast for lunch, prepped by our head chef, Skye, and her sous chefs, Sophie and Ella. It was great food. My watch team got to eat first because we were on watch, which is always great. Then it was declared that it is 'Charlie appreciation day' for our dear chiefmate and seamanship professor, Charlie. Watch team 3 saw dolphins on their 12-4 am watch this morning, which is really cool. Professor Charlie taught the Navmaster class, which is personally my favorite class. After which, some of us did our Navmaster homework before marine bio. We had our first marine bio exam, which was not fun.
The fire alarm went off near the end. Don't worry, it was a false alarm. Then dinner, which was rice, stir-fried veggies, chicken, and samosas for the vegetarians, as always, the food was great, thanks again to the chefs. After the cleanup, Captain Shane played guitar up on deck, which is always calming. Charlie picked Noelle's first book to read, called "There are rivers in the sky"; she is going to give him a report on the first few chapters to watch tonight. Passage has been really fun so far and is going to continue to be. That is all for now. To my family, I love and miss you all. I'm doing great, and I'll talk to you soon. Bye for now
