Assassins at Sea!

Location: Pacific Ocean

My morning started with a rough 4 am wake-up, but to be honest, it wasn’t so bad because I was excited to see my watch team (go watch team 3!). It’s gotten to the point on passage where everyone has gotten pretty close with their watch teams and looks forward to hanging out with them despite the late/early hours. In contrast to our last watch, when we listened to a 4-hour podcast all the way through while sitting in silence, we spent this morning’s 4-8 am watch having some lovely, deep conversations about our lives and the trip so far. The rest of the day was pretty similar to all of our other passage days, except for the fact that it was our first day of Nav Master exams. While around 9 of us were taking exams, everyone else chilled on the boat, napping, doing laundry, studying, or chatting. At lunch, Rachel announced that we were beginning Boat Assassin! Everyone received a person, place, and object to hold. You get someone out by catching them with that object in that place until there is only one man left standing. No one is to be trusted….. People’s feelings about the upcoming weather front are pretty mixed, ranging from excited and eager to dreading it, but so far, the seas and skies have been pretty calm. We ended the day with a gorgeous sunset over the water and will probably spend the night either resting up for watch or studying for tomorrow’s round of Nav Master exams!
PS: Love you, Mom and Dad!!
